About.com Guide to Law School

Michelle Fabio, Esq. is a licensed attorney and professional writer who successfully made her way through law school and wants to help you do the same.

Experience:

Upon graduation from law school and passing the Pennsylvania and New Jersey Bar Exams, Fabio served a two-year appellate clerkship with Justice Frank J. Montemuro, Jr. of the Superior Court of Pennsylvania. During law school, she worked as a research assistant, writer for The Legal Intelligencer Suburban Edition, and also as a summer associate with Philadelphia law firm Manta & Welge.

Through her law school and clerking experiences, Fabio has learned what admissions counselors, professors, law firms, and judges want in a law student, employee, and law clerk. She is now a freelance writer who works with other attorneys as well as popular legal publications and websites such as LegalZoom.com.

Fabio lives in her family's ancestral village in southern Italy and shares her experiences at Bleeding Espresso.

Education:

Fabio earned a Juris Doctor degree from Temple University's Beasley School of Law in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where she served as an editor on Law Review and published an award-winning comment on professional responsibility. She attended Temple Law on a faculty merit scholarship and won several awards for academic performance as well as for writing. She also earned undergraduate degrees in English and history, cum laude, from Duke University.

From Michelle Fabio:

I am a law school survivor, and you can be too. I look forward to guiding you through the LSAT, law school application process, life in law school, the bar exam, and finding a great legal career after graduation from law school--or even a nonlegal career if you like. As a professional writer, I'm also happy to share my expertise regarding personal statements.
