When Cheney Mason, one of Florida's most well-known criminal defense attorneys, pledged $1 million to anyone in Dateline NBC viewing public who could demonstrate how his client could have killed four people within the time frame described by prosecutors, one person took him up on his offer.
That person was Dustin Kolodziej, a recent South Texas Law School grad--and now he wants his cool million.
Kolodziej retraced Mason's client's steps across two states and videotaped the whole thing, demonstrating that the time frame proffered by the prosecution was indeed plausible. He sent the tape to Mason for payment, but the demand was refused. Now Kolodziej has sued Mason claiming breach of contract in federal court.
Hmm...sounds like the beginning of a great law school exam question to me....
