Northwestern Law is Number One!

From Michelle Fabio, About.com GuideFebruary 22, 2010

Yes, Northwestern Law is the top-ranked law school in the country...on The National Law Journal's annual Go-To Law School List.

These rankings are based on the percentage of grads who went to big law firms; here are the top 10 law schools on the list with the percentage of grads placed in BigLaw positions in parentheses:

  1. Northwestern Law (55.9)
  2. Columbia Law (54.4)
  3. Stanford Law (54.1)
  4. University of Chicago Law (53.1)
  5. University of Virginia Law (52.8)
  6. University of Michigan Law (51)
  7. Penn Law (50.8)
  8. NYU Law (50.1)
  9. UC Berkeley Law (50)
  10. Duke Law (49.8)

To put this in perspective, though, in 2008, the school with the highest percentage of graduates that went to NLJ 250 firms was 70.5%.
